Growing up on a farm in Switzerland, Konrad always loved helping his Dad pick apples in the Fall. Because of this passion, Konrad had a vision to create a similar organic U-Pick experience in Alberta, Canada.

40 years in the making, Konrad started with seeds gathered from ornamental crab apples and local seeds. Starting from scratch, it involved growing trees from seeds for 2-3 years before grafting cultivars onto the root stock. After another year, the trees were transplanted into pots for a season. And next, planted into the orchard.

With an extensive background in agriculture, Konrad knew what cultivars grow best in our climate. In total, 20 cultivars grow at this time, with Konrad's interest in experimentation with different varieties, and creating his very own.

As a child, Konrad grew up with honey bees in Switzerland and was always interested in what they were able to gather and produce.

Konrad is an advocate of growing all of his organic apples and produce naturally, without any pesticides or chemicals. The health benefits are abundant - from nutrient-rich, crisp apples to vitamin-packed seabuckthorn and pure wildflower honey, everything from the orchard supports a healthy, natural lifestyle.
